Meta Louise Fischer

Meta Louise Fischer May 29, 1920 - April 24, 2005 84, 3765 Redwood Street, Fenwood, died Sunday April 24, 2005 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. She was born May 29, 1920 in the town of Cleveland, daughter of the late Frank and Martha Schoppenhorst. On September 8, 1941 , she married Raynold Joseph Fischer. They were happily married for 61 years, until his death on March 14, 2002. Meta was a mother, wife and homemaker while working beside her husband in their family business as a bookkeeper for Fischer Truck and Bus Service Inc. until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. Meta was an active charter member of the Fenwood Small Town Friends Homemakers Club, as well as a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Christian Mothers Society of St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She is survived by three sons, Donald (Jane) Fischer, Fenwood and their children, Sandy (Bill) Schneider, Sherri (Randy) Zyduck, Stacey (GM) Shannon, Schaunna (Shawn) Rasmussen, Scott (fiance', Jenny West) Fischer and Samuel Fischer; John (Patsy) Fischer, Fenwood, and their son, Gregory; Steven (Shelly) Fischer, Marathon, and their children, Dane and Karley; two daughters, Carol (Du Wayne) Hagen, Edgar, and their children, Laura (fiance', Bob Tess) Belanger, Lisa (fiance', Larry Kinsman) Belanger, Lois (Josh) Volesky, Jackie (fiance', Quentin Bauer) Hagen; Mary Kay (Dean) Adamski, Marathon, and their daughters, Jill, Amy and Becky Adamski; she is also survived by seven great grandchildren and one sister, Esther Graveen, Stratford. Besides her parents and husband, Meta was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer, a great grandson, Connor and a brother, Walter Schoppenhorst. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 28, 2005 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Weds. evening at the Edgar funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Meta's name. Online condolences at www.petersonkraemer.com
