Merry Funk

Merry E. Funk, 71, Mercer, died Monday July 29, 2013 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston. She was born September 13, 1941, in Avilla, Indiana, daughter of Evert and Carrie (Craft) Pippenger. On December 8, 1972, she married James Funk in Fort Wayne Indiana. He survives. Merry had been employed as an assistant manager in a hardware store in Mercer. Survivors include her husband, James Funk, Mercer, her mother, Carrie Pippenger, Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son, Jeff (Desi) Smith, Lancaster, Calif., one brother, Mark Pippenger, Fort Wayne, Ind. She was preceded in death by her father, Evert Pippenger and a brother Chet. Private family services will be held at a later date. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
