Merna F. Kleman, 72, Schofield, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at University Hospital, Madison surrounded by her family.
She was born July 15, 1944 in Wausau, daughter of the late Delbert and Marion (Gavitt) Sickler. Delbert passed away when Merna was young and Marion married Orville Richter who was an important father figure in her life. On October 26, 1962 she married David Kleman in Wausau. He survives.
Merna worked at Marathon Electric for many years. She enjoyed music, dancing, her plants, going to breakfast and socializing with her many friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, an occasional trip to the casino and above all time spent with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her husband, David Kleman, Schofield; sons, Randy (Holly) Kleman, Seymour, Indiana and Rick (JoAnn) Kleman, Kronenwetter; grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Kleman, Seymour, Indiana, Austin, Nicole, Ian and Noah Kleman, Kronenwetter, siblings, Donna (David) Skrzypchak, Schofield, Joan (Sid Hunter) Sickler, Sterling, Alaska, Loren Sickler, Wausau, Cheryl (Jim) Buttke, Rib Mountain and Shelia (Jim) Rebernick, Kronenwetter, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Michael and step-father, Orville Richter.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1351 S. Grand Avenue, Schofield. Rev. Jeffrey P. Mahnke will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church and again on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Private burial will take place at a later date.
