Merlin Erwin Hoff

Merlin Erwin Hoff 83, Merrill, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. He was born October 16, 1924 in town of Hamburg, son of the late Erwin and Erna (Fishbach) Hoff. On February 18, 1950 he married Arlyle Bedynek in Minnesota. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1993. Merlin was a farmer and ginseng grower and also drove school bus for Peterson Bus Service in Merrill. Some of his hobbies included playing sheepshead, the accordion and the concertina. Survivors include his children, Tim Hoff, Athens and Jolene (Russell) Greiner, Wausau; sister, Gloria Wiederhoeft, Wausau, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlyle. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 280 County Road A, Marathon. Deacon Sharon Gall will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
