Melvin A. Wagner 65, Weston, died Thursday, August 2, 2001 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born February 10, 1936 in Wausau, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Schotz) Wagner. On May 10, 1969, he married Carol Weller in Galloway. She survives. Melvin was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, Melvin worked for GTE for 27 years. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, #498 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. Survivors besides his wife, Carol; include 1 daughter, Debra (Chuck) Richards, Town of Weston and their children, Jessica and Max; 3 sons, Theodore (Sharon Tuttle) Wagner, Mosinee, Dave Wagner and Mathew Wagner both of Weston; 2 sisters, Delores (Don) Storm, South Bend, Indiana and Pat (Ray) Kuehlman, Wausau; 4 brothers, Walter (Irene) Wagner, Rothschild, Don Wagner and Clarence (Alice) Wagner all of Wausau and George (Betty) Wagner, Ringle. Besides his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by 1 sister-in-law, Helen Wagner. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2001 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. Rev. Robert Steveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau and again from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
