Melvin R. Lang

Melvin R. Lang, 87, Wausau, died Saturday July 21, 2012 at Our House Assisted Living. He was born July 12, 1925 in Wausau, son of the late John and Anna (Stieber) Lang. On July 15, 1950, he married Betty Beilke at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wausau. She survives. Melvin was a veteran of the US Army. Prior to his retirement, Melvin was self employed with Lang Brothers Construction. Among his favorite things to do were bowling, woodworking and making furniture for family members. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lang, Wausau, four children, Daniel (Karla) Lang, Elgin, Ill., Susan (Roger) Butler, Centreville, Virginia, Barbara (Christopher) Healy, Fairfax, Virginia, Robert (Ruth) Lang, Ashburn, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Jonathon (Michele) Healy, David (Sara) Healy, Paul Healy, Holly (Jeffery) Brandt Eric Brandenburg, Kira Butler, Eric and Kevin Lang; three great grandchildren, Sean, Maria, Andrew; two sisters, Alice Ferries, Schofield and June (Wesley) Wilcott, Wausau. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ervin, Leander and Lester Lang and four sisters, Irene McClay, Dorothy Putzbach, Violet Puises-Harris and Marian Lang. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 24, 2012 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Timothy Welles will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
