Matthew D. Marcell, 32, Wausau, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 14, 2016. He was born September 30, 1984 in Wausau, the son of David (Terri) Marcell of Weston and the late Sandra Marcell. He attended D. C. Everest Senior High School and furthered his education, attending the University of Wisconsin-Marathon and studied business at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Matthew proudly worked alongside his dad and step mom as an agent for Marcell Insurance Agency, Inc. and served as Corporate Secretary. He was a member of the Schofield Lions Club, a member of the IIA (Independent Insurance Agents) and a member of the PIA (Professional Insurance Agents). Matthew was an avid sports enthusiast. His favorite team was the Milwaukee Bucks, but he also loved the Brewers, the Packers and the Badgers. He was most passionate about his music and loved playing his guitar along with writing his own music. Matthew also enjoyed a pickup game of basketball or a leisurely day of golf. Of all the things he loved, he was most proud of being a dad to his son, Maximus. Survivors include, his parents, David and Terri Marcell, Weston; his fiancAC.e, Jessica Krautkramer, Wausau; his son, Maximus Marcell; two sisters, Stacey (Wilbert) Frazier, Oxford, CT. and Rebeca (Jeremy) Argiro, Weston; brother, Justin Heinkel, Madison; nieces and nephews, Cameron and Casandra Frazier and Madelyn and Allie Argiro; maternal grandmother, Evelyn (Wayne) Lee, Woodruff; step-grandfather, Frank Perekovich, Weston; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Marcell; paternal grandparents, Frederick and Marie Marcell; maternal grandfather, James Sheppard; and step-grandmother, Marilyn Perekovich. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Very Rev. Allan L. Slowiak will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be contributed toward an educational fund for his son, Maximus. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
