Maryann Zocher

MaryAnn Zocher 74, Athens, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Merrill. She was born July 9, 1933 in Athens, daughter of the late John and Alva (Liberty) Rauscher. MaryAnn attended St. Anthony's Catholic School and the Athens High School. She worked for Marathon Cheese in Medford and Marathon, retiring in 1998. After her retirement, MaryAnn volunteered at St. Anthony's Catholic Church and School. MaryAnn cherished spending time with her family and shared many special moments with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always looked forward to her daily walks with her best friend, Charlie, her adopted black lab, and loved the times she could spend with all her friends. MaryAnn was a great source for Athens history and always looked forward to the Athens Fair each year. Her generosity, great sense of humor and homemade pies and pumpkin bars will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Kathie (Jason) Handrick, Edgar, two grandsons, Heath (Val) Handrick and Sean Handrick, both of Edgar, three great grandchildren, Connor, Brock and Serena, two sisters-in-law, Naomi Rauscher and Fran VanRemortel, Green Bay, two nieces, Jane (Jim) Hermans, Green Bay, Patricia (David) Keast, Sacramento and one nephew, John Rauscher, Chicago, Ill. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Cliff Rauscher, one sister, Ella Goldbach, one brother-in-law, Hubert Goldbach and one nephew Tom Goldbach and one niece Cyndi Rauscher. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
