Mary T. Adamski
79, Marathon, died Saturday January 10, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
She was born March 17, 1929, in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Bargender) Skrzypchak. On October 19, 1948, she married Edwin Adamski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He preceded her in death March 29, 1962. On November 24, 1973, she married Clarence Adamski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. He survives.
Prior to retirement, Mary had been involved in dairy and ginseng farming, however the role of wife, mother and grandmother was first in her life. Making a home for family, cooking and baking were her specialties. Spending time with her grandchildren was a priority for her as well. Among her favorite things to do were playing solitare on the computer and from May through October she was a champion lawn mower, attentive to all the details. In the past, Clarence and Mary took great pride in the planning and placement of their outdoor Christmas decorations. A life long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mary was involved with their Parish Council of Catholic Women and the Color Vision volunteers.
Survivors include her husband Clarence, two sons, Dean (Mary Kay) Adamski, Delos (Laura) Adamski, all of Marathon, a daughter-in-law, Debra Adamski, Marathon, nine grandchildren, Jason (Jamie Brunner) Adamski, Edgar, Tony Adamski, Marathon, Jill Adamski, Chippewa Falls, Amy (John Bretzke) Adamski, St. Paul, Becky Adamski, LaFayette, Ind., D.J. (Melissa) Adamski, Milton, Holly Beranek, Marathon, Eric and Jacob Adamski, Marathon, five great grandchildren, Jenna & Nicholas Adamski, Edgar, William Bretzke, St. Paul and Memphis & Sophia Beranek, Marathon, five brothers, Edward (Marilyn) Skrzypchak, Rothschild, David (Donna) Skrzypchak, Schofield, Francis (Jenny) Skrzypchak, Wausau, Roland (Lyn) Skrzypchak and Dale (Doreen) Skrzypchak, all of Marathon, four sisters, Valeria (Jack) Olson, Rothschild, Marlene Deininger, Wausau, Virginia (Darwin) Klubal, Tomahawk, Eunice Hanson, New Berlin.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Adamski and a son, Donald Adamski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 16, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Rev. Barnabas Kyea will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 4:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Marathon funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
