Mary C. Sherfinski
87, Wausau, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born September 6, 1919 in Rosholt, daughter of the late Stanley Sr. and Clara (Ziolkowski) Cieslewicz. On October 24, 1945 she was united in marriage with Hubert Sherfinski at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Rosholt. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2001.
Mary was a homemaker who also worked as an Avon Representative and at the former Holiday Inn, Wausau. Other activities she enjoyed included reading, crafts and especially time with her family. She was a member of the Church of St. Anne, the Fatima Council and the former St. Bridget's Circle. She will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion to everyone.
Survivors include six daughters, Therese (Paul) Rice, Tomah, Mary (Mike) Moum, St. Point, Anne (Greg) Gordon, Wausau, Delores Sherfinski, Appleton, Jane (Wayne) Hemmrich, Marathon, and Paulette (Mike) Koski, Wausau; two sons, James Sherfinski, Wausau and Paul Sherfinski, San Diego; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five sisters, Annette Mozuch, Josephine Smith, Rosalie Sloan, Pat West and Clare (Dave) Jozwiak; six brothers, Vincent (Helen), Casey (Theresa), Anthony (Jean), Martin (Mary), Thomas (Doris) and Michael (Enid); one sister-in-law Virginia; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert, two brothers, Francis and Stanley Jr.; three brothers-in-law, Quinton Smith, Francis Mozuch and Richard Sloan.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Church of St. Anne. The Rev. Steven Brice will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. rosary service Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Church of St. Anne.
