Mary Ann Schalow

Mary Ann Schalow, 69, Wausau, died Monday, December 15, 2008, at Aspirius Wausau Hospital. She was born July 1, 1939, in Hatley, daughter of Esther (Pestka) Pozorski, Wausau and the late Theodore Pozorski. On May 28, 1960 she married Gerald J. Schalow at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1991. Mary was employed at the former Holiday Inn for many years where she worked as a waitress and later she had been employed at Wal-Mart. Among her favorite things to do were gardening, polka dancing and playing cards. Besides her mother Esther Pozorski, Wausau; survivors include one daughter Linda (Rick) Hart, Athens; two sons, Jay Schalow, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Fred (Ranae) Schalow, Mukwonago; four grandchildren, Kelly, Kody, Evan, and Devin; two sisters, Cheri Siewert, Wausau, and Debbie (Bob) Adams, Oro Valley, Arizona; one sister-in-law, Barb Wegnar, Lac du Flambeau; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Theodore, and her husband Gerald. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 at The Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap., will preside. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 am at the church until time of services. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street is in charge of arrangements.
