Mary A. Rubow

Mary A. Rubow 94, Wausau, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Wausau Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 6, 1916 in Wausau, daughter of the late Bernard and Helen (Kelsey) Richards. On January 4, 1936, she married Raymond Rubow in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1985. Mary was a true homemaker at heart; she loved cooking, baking, canning, gardening, sewing and craftwork. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling until age 87. Mary also enjoyed spending time at her lake home in Minocqua. She was a charter member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and a member of the PCCW. Mary worked as a volunteer at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and was a member of the Maple Hill Garden Club. Survivors include, three children, Donald (JoAnne) Rubow, Ladysmith, Nancy Singer and Gary (Beverly) Rubow, both of Wausau; nine grandchildren, Bill (Toni) Singer, Mike (Cathy) Singer, Curtis (Tracy) Singer, Cheryl Patt, Pamela (Larry) Szura, Rick (Andrea) Rubow, Michelle (Jeremy) Voigt, Lisa and Tim Rubow; 18 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kayla, Mariah, David, Spencer, Matthew and Halee Singer, Nathan, Zachary and Chase Patt, Lucas and Stephanie Bloomer, Christopher and Kaitelyn Rubow, Vanessa, Maria and Gianna Voigt, and Ayden Barnett; and one great great grandson, Hayden Patt. Besides her parents and husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by two infant children, Suzanne and Francis; eight brothers, Vincent, Edward, Bernard, Leo, Frank, Roman, George and John Richards; and one sister, Frances Duranceau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
