Mary Ann Van Rixel

July 16, 1932 — April 30, 2007

Mary Ann "Kitty" Van Rixel 74, Mosinee, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at her home. She was born July 16, 1932 in Rosholt, daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Spitza) Garski. On November 18, 1950, she married Leo Van Rixel in Stevens Point. He survives. Among her many interests, she enjoyed bowling, gardening and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Survivors include, her husband, Leo "Bud" Van Rixel, Mosinee; six children, Daniel (Cynthia) Van Rixel, Waukesha, Michael (Linda) Van Rixel, Fort Pierce, Fla., Joseph Van Rixel, Mosinee, Linda DeLuca, Port Jurvis, N.Y., Mary Kay Van Rixel, Edgar and Leo John (Michelle) Van Rixel, Mosinee; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three sisters, Theresa (Joe) Johnson, Amherst Junction, Florence Moen, Iola and Grace Jisko, Plover. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Van Rixel Jr.; three brothers, Leonard, Albert and Jimmy Garski; and three sisters, Zephren Johnson, Jean Michaelcamp and Julia Firkus. Funeral services will be at Noon Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter.
