Mary Jean Payzer
69, Wausau, died Thursday February 20, 2003 in her apartment at 500 Grand Avenue, Wausau.
She was born May 2, 1933 in Wausau, daughter of the late Stanley and Florence (Lukasavitz) Payzer. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee and received her BA in 1956 and her MA in 1958 all in the English studies. After spending a semester at the University in Vienna, she was a research assistant and later taught English at the High School and College levels.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Payzer, Boulder Junction and John (Carla) Payzer, Seattle and two nephews.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday February 24, 2003 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Polonia. Friends may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Resurrection Catholic Church.
