Mary L. Lepak
72, 6205 North Mountain Road, Wausau, died Tuesday April 22, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
She was born August 15, 1930 in Wausau, daughter of the late Anton and Louise (LaCocq) Szymanski. She married Ralph Oleszczuk on September 29, 1951 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death December 9, 1971. On August 25, 1973 she married Daniel C. Lepak at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He survives.
Prior to her retirement, Mary had been employed for 25 years as a telephone secretary with the Business Service Center, Wausau. Mary had been a volunteer for the Hospice program and was active in the water aerobics program at the Marathon Swim Center. Family was the central part of Mary's life and she especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel C. Lepak, Wausau, five children, Cathy (Bill) Wasmund, Wausau, Bruce (Penny) Oleszczuk, Beaverton, Ore., Patricia (Steve Akey) Linehan, Schofield, Mary Jo Leiterman, Brookfield, Timothy K. (Gayle) Oleszczuk, Brookfield, 12 stepchildren, Daniel (Sheri) Lepak, Wausau, Gail (Keith) Lawrence, Wausau, Connie (Dennis) Janssen, Neenah, Bonnie (Randy) Roeder, Wausau, Sue (Denny) Bedish, Eagle River, Ronald Lepak, Wausau, Steve Lepak, Wausau, Patrice (Chuck) Janssen, Wausau, Nancy (Donald) Hall, Wausau, Roger Lepak, Wausau, Mary Beth (Thomas) Smith, Ware Shoals, SC, Kathleen Lepak, Wausau, nine grandchildren, 25 stepgrandchildren, seven great-stepgrandchildren, two brothers, James (Helen) Schymanski, Wausau and George (Gloria) Szymanski, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, Ralph Oleszczuk, she was preceded in death by a stepson, James Lepak.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Thursday April 24, 2003, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Comfort Care and Hospice Services or the charity of your choice.
