Mary E. Lella

Mary "Betty" E. Lella 93, Wausau, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau. She was born January 2, 1913 in Houston, Texas, daughter of the late Clare and Josephine Linscott. On June 5, 1948, she married Henry J. Lella at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1989. Among her many interests, she enjoyed baking, watching NBA Basketball, babysitting for many families, and most of all, spending time with her only grandson, Daniel. Survivors include, two children, Susan (Robert) Smerda, Wausau and Jeffrey (Maureen) Lella, Germantown; and one grandson, Daniel (Bonnie) Smerda, Appleton. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Judd Linscott. The funeral mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Saturday from Noon until time of services at the church.
