Mary Kellman

MARY KELLMAN 78, 4501 19th St., Wausau, died Monday, November 11, 2001 at Colonial Manor Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Mary was born October 24, 1923 in Inverness, Scotland, daughter of the late Thomas & Christina (Urquhart) Pentland. She lived in Weisbaden, Germany until the age of 5, as her father was a career soldier in the British Army. Mary enlisted in the British army in 1943 and was stationed in Northern Ireland, England, France and Germany. She was assigned to General Eisenhower's Staff Headquarters in England and France where she met her future husband, Steve. On August 6, 1945, they were married in Glasgow, Scotland and came to the United States on April 1, 1946. Mary enjoyed reading, playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles and traveling to Europe, Asia and South America. She was a member of the Universalist Unitarian Church, Wausau. Survivors include her husband, Steve, Wausau; two sons, Tom (Georgia) Kellman, Stevens Point and Ian Kellman, Wausau; two grandchildren, Alex, Stevens Point and Rita, Rothschild. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Rev. Paul Beckel will officiate. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. Thursday until the time of services at the 6th St. funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
