Mary Ann Kage

Mary Ann Kage 83, Wausau, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice at Harbor House, Wausau. She was born September 13, 1926 in Athens, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Krell) Bramm. On April 17, 1948 she married Wilfred Kage at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Milwaukee. He preceded her in death May 18, 2006. Mary Ann was a homemaker and was very active in the family ginseng business. Some of her hobbies included needlework, ceramics and camping with her brothers and sister. She enjoyed polka music, celebrating monthly with the birthday club and she always looked forward to the annual Brammarama family reunion. Survivors include her four children, Colette (Marty) Krahn, Wausau, Doug (Jean) Kage, Pat (Brenda) Kage and Shawn (Shelley) Kage, all of Marathon; nine grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Krahn, Wausau, Jenny (Nick) Nelson, Wausau, Ben Krahn (fiance Katie Holden), Wausau, Ryan Kage (fiance Amanda Parduhn), Marathon, Craig Kage (fiance Mary McCall), Madison, Christian Kage, Marathon, Nicolette Kage, Marathon, Jared Kage, Marathon and Jessica Kage, Marathon; one great granddaughter, Isabelle Krahn; five sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Bramm, Cedar Grove, Cathy Bramm, Westfield, Amella Beilke, Wausau, Florence Kage, Wausau and Elmyra Kage, Marathon, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Wilfred, she was preceded in death by a sister, Merceda Fladvid, two brothers, Charles Bramm and Richard Bramm, six brothers-in-law, two nephews and one niece. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5 - 8p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 300 Walnut Street, Marathon and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Harbor House and Ministry Home Care Hospice for their exceptional care given to Mary Ann.
