Mary Ann Holbach 55, Marathon, died Thursday, October 20, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born October 22, 1949 in Crosby, Minn. daughter of the late Leonard and Marion (Sulzer) Booth. On April 26, 1969, she married Lawrence Holbach at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He survives. Mary Ann was a librarian and a teacher's aid at Marathon Area Elementary School. She was a member of the Red Hats Society-Molly's Purple Angels. Besides knitting, crocheting, and watching NASCAR, she enjoyed her group at Marathon Swim Center. Mary Ann loved being with her family and will be deeply missed. Besides her husband, Larry Holbach, Marathon, survivors include two daughters, Joann Holbach, Marathon and Jill (Joel) Strassburger, Wausau; one son, John (Shelia) Holbach, Mosinee and their son, Josh. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. Sunday until the time of services at the church. A special thank you to Dr. Gautam and the University of Wisconsin Cancer Center staff as well as Comfort Care & Hospice Services staff and volunteers for their care and support for the Holbach family.
