Mary "Mae" Heinz, 86, formerly of Rothschild, died Wednesday January 21, 2015, at her home in Orlando, Florida, under the care of her family and hospice.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Wausau, daughter of the late Sigmund and Florence (English) Schneider. On November 27, 1948, she married George Heinz in Wausau. He survives.
Mae had been employed for several years at the Vogue Hat and Dress Shop in Wausau and had been manager for many years. The Heinz's moved to Orlando about ten years ago where Mae enjoyed her job at Universal Studios which she worked until the age of 84. Among her favorite pastimes were playing cards, especially her involvement in Bridge Club. She was also a member of the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include her husband, George Heinz, Orlando, four daughters, Heather Heinz, Orlando, Ellen (Jim) Meuret, Hatley, Carla (John) Heinz-Gotzler, Mosinee and Dee (David) Heinz-Bahr, Ecuador granddaughter, Andrea (Brandon) Robarge-Sinkbeil, Golden, Colorado.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ardell Schultz and Betty Schneider, a brother, Gene Schneider, a nephew, Jimmy Schultz and a niece, Cookie Lochner.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the cemetery chapel. In respect of Mae's lifelong love of animals, a memorial fund will be established in the future, for the care of animals. a memorial fund is being established.
