Mary E. Grant

Mary E. Grant, 69, died Thursday, October 29, 2020 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor.

She was born January 5, 1951 in Medford, daughter of the late Anton and Elizabeth (Demrath) Gallistel.  On September 16, 1972 she married John Grant at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.

Mary worked at Weston Elementary in the the school lunch program and enjoyed cooking, flowers and hummingbirds.  She also enjoyed Christmas time and volunteering at St. Clare’s Hospital.  Above all, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John Grant; daughter, Sarah (Peter) Severson; grandchildren, Bruce Spahr and Tiffany (Andy Watson) Spahr; great-granddaughter, Marlena Jean Watson; sisters, Norene Cywinski and Donna Faber; sisters-in-law, Shirley Gallistel, Judy Gallistel, Betty (Jerry) Stuessy, Bernie (Ron) Oberley and Debra Grant; brothers-in-law, Michael (Ilene) Grant, Robert (Linda) Grant, Don (Barb) Grant and Peter Fuchs, many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by infant brother, Donald, brothers, John, James and Bob Gallistel, a sister, Jeanne Hoffman, sister-in-law, Rita Fuchs and brothers-in-law, James Faber, Jim Cywinski and Edward Grant.

Private burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Medford.  A celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
