Mary E. Boyd

Mary E. Boyd 89, Colby, formerly of Athens, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at Colonial Center, Colby. She was born March 13, 1918 in Greenville, Ill., daughter of the late Horace and Anna (Fessler) Davis. On July 14, 1946 she married Elmer Boyd in Greenville, Ill. who preceded her in death in 1993. Mary worked as a registered nurse for many years and had many hobbies including gardening, needlepoint, watching birds and cooking. Survivors include her children, Linda (Mark) Ellenbecker, William Boyd both of Athens, Charles (Rita) Boyd, Mosinee and Darrell (Sherri) Boyd, Athens; sisters, Mae (Clinton) McCaslin and Florence Davis both of Greenville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Hazel Scharf, Litchfield, Ill.; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Marie and a niece, Donna. The funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 312 Caroline Street, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will officiate. Burial will be in Sunny Side Cemetery, Illinois. Friends may call Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of services all at the Athens funeral home.
