Mary A. Blume
83, 1821 N. 4th Avenue, Wausau, formerly of Marathon, died Friday, October 10, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born May 12, 1920 in Marathon, daughter of the late Alois and Elizabeth (Bumann) Blume. Prior to her retirement Mary worked for Marathon Cheese as a cheese wrapper. She was a member of Parish Council of Catholic Women at St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Secular Franciscans. Among her favorite things to do were baking, playing the piano and taking long walks in the woods. Mary was always known to be a caregiver to any family members in need and she was also known to have a cookie jar full for anyone who walked through the door.
Survivors include one sister, Elsie Lepak, Wausau, two sisters in law, Phyllis Blume, Marathon and Dolores Blume, Mosinee along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
