Mary Ann Baumann

Mary Ann Baumann, 89, Marathon died Sunday, January 11, 2015 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor. She was born February 5, 1925 in the town of Emmet, daughter of the late John and Anna (Salzman) Furger. On September 25, 1943 she married Walter Baumann at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2006. Mary Ann was a homemaker, dairy and ginseng farmer in the town of Emmet all her life. She also drove school bus for Knauf Bus Service for many years. Some of her favorite pastimes included quilting, cooking, baking, canning and card playing. Survivors include her children, Janice (Jerry) Gage, Marathon, Dennis (Gail) Baumann, Rib Mountain, Lawrence (Elaine) Baumann, River Falls, Floyd (Sandee) Baumann, Lloyd (Joanie) Baumann and Sandy (Doug) Borchardt, all of Marathon, 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2006 and three sisters. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
