Marvin R. Knuth

Marvin "Mike" R. Knuth 77, Wausau, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born July 2, 1933 in Wisconsin Rapids, son of the late Ben and Elsie (Sanger) Knuth. On December 28, 1955, he married Marlene Zastava in Wisconsin Rapids. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2010. Mike was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. For 42 years, he worked as a maintenance manager for Wausau Insurance until his retirement. Among his favorite pastimes, Mike enjoyed golfing, duck hunting, pheasant hunting, camping, boating and traveling. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his wonderful personality and kind heart will be missed. Survivors include, one daughter, Wendy Knuth, Wausau; one granddaughter, Jenny (Nathan) Kulhman, Wausau; one great granddaughter, Madison Kulhman; and two sisters, Marles Quester, Wisconsin Rapids and Minnie (Jim) Richie, Green Bay. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church, 15425 Highway K, Merrill. Rev. Kevin Hoogland will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
