Marvin M. Knetter

Marvin M. Knetter 70, 207 8th Avenue, Edgar, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born March 7, 1936 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Jagodzinski) Knetter. On October 20, 1956 he married Marie Franz at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She survives. Marvin worked at Marathon Electric both as an inspector and in the shipping department. After retirement he enjoyed working for several seasons at the Maple Ridge Farm, Mosinee. Camping, fishing, gardening, bowling and playing cards were some of the things he enjoyed in his spare time. Traveling with his wife and spending time with his family were most important to him. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church where he ushered and was a eucharistic minister and he was also a member of the Lions Club and the Seasoned Softball League. Survivors include his wife, Marie, Edgar; children, Karen (Robert) Karlen, Fairbanks, Alaska, Alan (Melissa) Knetter, Texarkana, Arkansas, Mary (Daniel) Bergs, Stratford, John (Cathy) Knetter, Edgar, Theresa (Russell) Graveen, Wausau, Joan (Kenneth) Kavajecz, Madison and Jeffrey (Sonya) Knetter, Colburn, Idaho; eighteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and another great grandchild on the way; one brother, Paul Knetter, Wausau; and three sisters, Lorraine Bentzler, Marshfield, Gladys Strasser, Edgar and Violet (Earl) Streveler, Edgar. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Joseph Jr. and Melvin Knetter and one sister Arlene Knetter. The memorial mass will be celebrated 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2007 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John School, Edgar or the Palliative Care unit of St. Joseph's Hospital. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
