Marvin J. Imhoff 73, Wausau, died Tuesday December 9, 2008 surrounded by his family under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born August 26, 1935, in Edgar, son of the late Edward and Cecilia (Kraimer) Imhoff. On October 15, 1960, he married Betty Strei at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She survives. Prior to his retirement, Marvin had been employed for 30 years at Wausau Homes. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army. Among his favorite things to do were woodworking, fishing, yardwork, spending time on the farm of his daughter and son-in-law as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling and camping. Marvin had a special place in his heart for his two buddies, Pipi and Shady. Survivors include his wife, Betty Imhoff, Wausau, four children, Kevin (Ann) Imhoff, Marathon and their family, Jennifer & Tyler Imhoff and Kara and Dale Check; Kathy (Mark) Ahrens, Marathon and their family, Matthew, Melissa and Kellie Ahrens; Karen (Arlin) Bradfish, Wausau, and their family, Nicholas & Kaylee Bradfish; Karla (Dustin) Kohn, Wausau, and their family, Noah & Caleb Anker, Abby Kohn and Amber, Austin & Adam Kohn, his siblings, Patricia Kaiser, Edgar, Diane Stencil, Wausau, Mary Ellen (Marlin) Novitzke, Edgar, Donna (Bill) Steines, Wausau, Larry (Debbie) Imhoff, Wausau, two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Clifford) Brandt, Wausau, Shirley (Don) Sagstetter, Wausau. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant twin brother and a son-in-law, Tracy Anker. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday December 13, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Jerome Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers of the UW Madison, Dr. Christopher Peterson, Dr. James Schlais and the staff of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the outstanding care given to Marvin. Also, a special thank you to Fr. Gerald Pehler of the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus for being there with us during this difficult time.
