Martin H. Roeder, 91, Mount View Care Center, Wausau, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. Martin was born May 22, 1911, in the town of Rib Falls, son of the late Otto and Emma (Heise) Roeder. He married Erna Radtke on July 8, 1939, in Wausau. She preceded him in death November 20, 1986. Martin later married Pearl Truax on June 10, 1988, in Wausau. She survives. Martin was a mechanic for Hall's Garage until it closed. After his retirement in 1962, he worked for the next 10 years for the Commission on Aging delivering meals. Working hard in his yard and Sunday family meals were among his favorite things in life. Besides his wife Pearl Roeder, Wausau, he is survived by two sons, Dennis (Sheila) Roeder, Wausau, Gary (special friend Jane Hildebrandt)Roeder, Brokaw; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife, Erna and his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Weise, three brothers, Ervin, Lawrence and Delos. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services, all at the Sixth Street Funeral Home. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Cornerstone Assisted Living, Mount View Care Center and Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Your respective staffs were always caring and comforting.
