Marlene A. Strachota

Marlene A. Strachota, 80, Wausau, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born June 16, 1936 in Wausau, daughter of the late Hilmer and Ethyl (Hartwig) Rosentreter. She graduated from Wausau Senior High School in 1954. On July 13, 1968 she married James Strachota at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. In 1956 she went to work for S.S. Kresge's Department Store as a department head and cashier until 1983 when she was transferred to Kmart where she worked as a pharmacy technician. After Kmart's store closing in 2006 she went to work at Trig's pharmacy. Survivors include her husband, James Strachota; son, Patrick (Jill) Strachota; two grandchildren, Garret and Halie Strachota; one brother, Daryll (Jane) Rosentreter; one sister, Linda Ploeger. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Gordon and Douglas Rosentreter and two sisters, Dianne Graebel and Janice Vogedes. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
