Marlene L. Reimer, 78, Marathon, died Friday August 31, 2012 at home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born February 20, 1934, in New Ulm, Minn., daughter of the late Bernard and Esther (Podratz) Bonderson. On August 30, 1952, she married Roland Reimer in Gaylord, Minn. He preceded her in death February 2, 2001.
Marlene was a homemaker and was strong in her Christian beliefs, which helped to sustain her through life's challenges. Her grandchildren were a source of great joy to her, as they kept her young and she treasured the time spent with them. Among her favorite things to do were cross stitching and staying current with all types of sports, especially football, baseball and NASCAR.
Survivors include one daughter, Karin (friend, Steve Nielsen) Reimer, Marathon, one son, Darrin Amster, Effie, Minn., four grandchildren, Adam, Tim, Danielle and Ezekiel, four siblings, Dellene, Orlene, Eilene and Pamalene.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Sharlene, Geralene, Bernard and Randall.
A joint memorial service for Marlene and Roland is pending and will be announced at a later date.
