Marlene "Monnie" Nowitzke, 81, Wausau, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her home. She was born June 27, 1935 in Wausau, daughter of the late Anton and Clara (Kowalefski) Nowitzke. For many years, Monnie worked for Wausau Metals Corp. in Wausau until her retirement. She loved to read and play pool, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Milwaukee Brewers fan. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Ambrose Nowitzke; and four sisters, Lillian Kortbein, Delores Gruna, Virginia Schubring and Gladys Nowitzke and many more beloved relatives. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Dan Thelen will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
