Marlene J. Fredrich

November 20, 1938 — November 24, 2013

Marlene J. Fredrich (nee "Stohr") of Weston was born into eternal life on Sunday, November 24, 2013, surrounded by the love of her friends. May the angels lead her into paradise! Marlene was the loving wife of the late William "Bill" Fredrich; the loving daughter of the late William and Grace Stohr; the loving Godmother of Jonathan Cline; and the loving and dedicated friend of countless others! Marlene and Bill were married 47 years and did extensive traveling across the United States and Europe. Marlene retired from the Social Security Administration after 36 years. She was an avid Packer's fan and was known to get very enthusiastic during the games. Friends remained central to Marlene's life and she was instrumental in providing to many. Marlene established the William L. Fredrich Memorial Scholarship and the William and Grace Stohr Memorial Scholarship. Both were four-year, full-tuition scholarships to Newman High School. Supporting Catholic schools was her passion. Marlene celebrated her 75th birthday with friends present on November 20th. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild. The Very Rev. Allan L. Slowiak will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Circle of Joy or to either of the scholarships, in care of Newman Catholic Schools, 619 Stark St, Wausau, WI 54403. A special thank you to all of Marlene's friends who faithfully journeyed these last days with her, helping to pray her to heaven. May God bless you! We also want to thank the nurses and workers at Hospice House, especially JoAnn, Pam, and Rheanna who showed special kindness and compassion to Marlene during her last week of life. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
