Mark D. Norris

Feb 28, 1956 — Jun 28, 2026

Mark Norris, age 70, of Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Born on February 28, 1956, in Platteville, Wisconsin, Mark was the son of Jerry Norris and Jean Dean. He grew up with a love for athletics and attended Ripon High School, where he proudly wore jersey #21 and excelled as a standout football player, wrestler, baseball player, and boxer. His competitive spirit, determination, and leadership were qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Mark’s professional career spanned sales and entrepreneurship, but his greatest accomplishments were found outside the workplace. A gifted carpenter, he took pride in building with his hands and helping others. He devoted 11 years to coaching youth football, including coaching his two sons, instilling in countless young athletes the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. He also had a passion for motivational speaking, encouraging others to pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.

An enthusiastic lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, Mark rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. He also shared a special bond with his beloved pets—Reese, Runty, Wolf, and Callie—who brought him much joy.

Above all else, Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. His greatest love was his family. He cherished his wife, Tracy, and took immense pride in his children and their families. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life and whom he loved beyond measure.

Mark is lovingly survived by his wife, Tracy Norris; his children, Lindsey Norris (Cameron), Tyler Norris (Mel), and Trevor Norris (Whitney); his cherished grandchildren, Arowyn Norris, Watson Norris, and Navie Norris-Naab; his mother, Jean Dean; his siblings, Steve Norris (Kari), Sherri Rompala (Mike), Dave Norris, Pat Wilcox (Brea), and Brian Wilcox (Elizabeth); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Norris, and his grandparents, Harold and Irene Norris, and Stanley and Edna Smyth.

Mark will be remembered for his unwavering strength, generous heart, sense of humor, words of encouragement, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, the lives he influenced through coaching and mentorship, and the countless memories shared with those who loved him.

Though he will be profoundly missed, Mark’s love, wisdom, and example will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
