Mark L. Nagel

Mark L. Nagel, 63, Wausau passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024 while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 17, 1960 in Wausau, son of the late Ralph and Gladys (Dallman) Nagel.  On October 14, 1995 he married Lisa Lesperance-Wopp in Wausau.  She survives.

Mark worked at the former Central Fabricators in Schofield, Marathon Cheese and also for the Park Department at the Marathon County Shooting Range.  Mark was also the owner of Central Wisconsin Bumper and Supply.

Mark enjoyed bench rest shooting at the 600 Yard Club shooting range in which he was the President of the club for several years. He had won many awards and took first place in several of the competitions over the years, which now cover the walls of his home. Mark made several very good friends working as range master for the Corbin shooting range and enjoyed teaching others about guns and shooting.

His love for being a marksman at his hobby was only surpassed by his love of cars and Street Rods. He enjoyed attending car shows with his wife and stepson, being a member of WI Road Knights Car Club and showing off his 1941 Willys Coupe.

Mark was a good man that loved God and was a devoted husband who loved his family and his yellow Labrador Retriever. He fought his illness with strength and courage until the very end when Jesus called him home. His only desire was to be at home with his wife and family, which his wife Lisa made possible for him. He will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Nagel, Wausau, his stepson, Greg (Danielle Bergmann) Wopp, Wausau, one daughter, Amber Renken, Merrill, one grandson, Waylan Wopp and his in laws, Lynn Lesperance-Cox (Mike Cox), Greg (Diana) Lesperance, Debra (Tom) Niekamp.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Paula Wopp.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com
