Mark G. Lemmer
54, Rib Mountain, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at the home of his daughter, Heidi, in Rib Falls.
He was born July 16, 1950 in Edgar, son of Margaret (Martin) Lemmer, Edgar and the late Ralph Lemmer Sr.
As a proud veteran of US Army during the Viet Nam War, Mark served in Korea and during his travels was very impressed with Germany. He was a member of American Legion Post Montgomery Plant Post #10, Wausau.
Mark was raised on a farm in Edgar and later had been employed as a welder for PDM Bridge for 28 years until the time of his retirement. After being diagnosed with cancer, in the spring of 2000, Mark was able to escort two of his daughters down the aisle on their wedding day. Mark was proud of his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and was well known as a "Jack-of-All Trades" and a "Gadget Man", building things with his hands out of metal.
Survivors include four daughters, Heidi (Tom) Hanke, Rib Falls; Mary Lemmer, Wausau; Sandy Lemmer, Marathon and Hayley Lemmer, Calif.; one son, David Lemmer, Wausau; two grandchildren, Chance Lewens and Nathan Hanke; mother, Margaret Lemmer, Edgar; three sisters, Virginia (Jack) Lemmer, Mosinee; Katie (Art) Nowak and Mary (Eugene) Freese all of Fenwood; eight brothers, Ralph, Jr. (Adinan) Lemmer, Charlie (Vicki) Lemmer, William (Rita) Lemmer, Robert (Sharon) Lemmer, Tony (Lori) Lemmer and Paul (Lisa) Lemmer all of Edgar; Chris (Sarah) Lemmer, Athens; Jerry (Ann) Lemmer, . many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be a.m., Friday, July 23, 2004 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon. Burial will be in the Edgar Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and again from a.m. until the time of services at the Marathon funeral home.
