Marjory T. Pound

MARJORY T. POUND 92, died Thursday, November 22, 2001 at a Wausau community based residential facility. She was born March 27, 1909 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Howard Metcalfe Taylor Sr. and Grace (Halpin) Taylor. Marjory graduated from Connecticut College in 1931 and taught laboratory techniques at Long Island College of Medicine. She married Robert Travis Pound of Harlowton, Montana in 1942. Lakeville, Connecticut became their home. She later worked in the office of Indian Mountain School. Marjory, an avid reader, volunteered at the Scoville Memorial Library in Salisbury, Connecticut. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and knitting. After her husband died in 1988, Marjory moved to Wisconsin to be nearer to family. Survivors include; two sons, Alan Pound, Cupertino, California and Robert Jr. (Betty) Pound, Merrill; four grandchildren, David and Daniel Pound, Cupertino, California, Travis Pound, Milwaukee and Robert (Georgette) Paxton, Appleton; one brother, Howard (Elaine) Taylor, Madison, New Jersey. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janet (Taylor) Miller. Private family services will be held.
