Marjorie "Marge" Froom
Age 88, of Wausau, died peacefully with her son and best friend Judy Peterson at her side on January 10, 2012. Marge spent the last three years of her life at Our House Memory Care in Wausau under the loving care of their staff and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Marge was born May 21, 1923 in Delta, Utah, the eldest daughter of Mabel and Lester Welton. She graduated from high school in Delta and during World War II, Marge became the first female employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Charles Juers of Wausau while he was stationed in Salt Lake City during the war. In 1976 she married Jack Froom.
Marge spent most of her career working as an EKG technician at Wausau Hospitals. She had a lifelong love of dance and was active in Wausau Community Theatre, choreographing and performing in numerous musical productions. For many years she taught dance at the Judy Peterson Dance Studio. She was also a tireless volunteer at the Wausau Elks Club for many years.
Marge was preceded in death by both of her husbands.
She is survived by her son, Michael Juers (Coleen Kennedy), Wausau; her grandson, Ryan (Jennifer) Juers, Wausau, three great-grandchildren, Vanessa Juers, Nicholas Juers, and Mikayla Juers; and her sisters, Beulah Rogers, Leslie Bevan, Roberta Dewsnup, and Lorraine Thurgood; stepson Jack (Julie) Froom; stepdaughter, Linda (Jack) Disbrow and step-grandchildren Tom, Mark, Jack and Paul Froom, Laurel Martin and Jim Disbrow.
There will be a visitation from 1 - 4p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau for those wishing to gather and remember Marge. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
Marge had a vivacious personality and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be deeply missed.
