Marjorie O. Carey 89, Wausau, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born February 26, 1919 in Pearson, Wisc. daughter of the late Henry and Ota (Powell) Shadick. On September 11, 1946 she married Edward Hubatch at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo. He preceded her in death. On April 27, 1989 she married Edward Carey at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. He preceded her in death. Marjorie was a homemaker who during her early years worked at dress shops in Antigo. Later she worked as a cashier at Red Owl and Grebe's Hardware in Wausau. She enjoyed knitting. Survivors include her son, Gerald Hubatch, Henderson, Nevada; sister, Betty (Howard) Halbesleben, Birnamwood; brother, Dorin Shadick, Eau Claire and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by both of her husbands, one sister, Carol Hoyt and two brothers, George and Eugene Shadick. The memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven J. Brice will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
