Marion "Auntie" Sobvick
92, Wausau, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born November 10, 1916 in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Barth and Louise (Tessen) Habert. On April 22, 1950 she married Frank Sobvick in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1992.
Marion was employed at the former Marathon Battery until 1971 and also worked at the Wausau Club for many years. Some of her hobbies included reading, bowling and fishing at Star Lake. Though she didn't have any children of her own, she treated her nieces, nephews and their families as her own. She held a special place in her heart for little Angel.
Survivors include two sisters, Violet (Russell) Wincentsen and Frances (Edwin) Meyer; many nieces and nephews; two step daughter-in-laws, Nancy (Joe) Benicek and Jackie Engman, and their families; special friend, Joy Porter.
Besides her husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by a step son, Richard Engman, four brothers and a sister.
Private services were held Sunday, October 4, 2009 at First United Methodist Church, Wausau.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to all the nurses and assistants at Hospice House for their excellent care of Marion. Their compassion and love for her is greatly appreciated by family members.
