Marion H. Mathie

Marion H. Mathie 74, formerly of 811 Dunbar Street, Wausau, died Saturday September 1, 2001 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau. She was born September 14, 1926 in Wausau, daughter of the late Charles and Helen Gorectke. Marion married Eugene Mathie on September 25, 1946 in Wausau. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1985. Prior to her retirement, Marion had been employed for 17 years at Marathon Electric Corporation. She was an excellent homemaker and was especially fond of flower gardening. Survivors include four children, John (Kathy) Mathie, Anne (Terry) Sturm, Barb Mathie and Tom Mathie, all of Wausau, six grandchildren, one great-grandson, one sister, Irene Jaeger, Wausau and one brother, Donald (Marie) Gorectke, Milwaukee. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 6, 2001 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. Weds. evening at the Sixth Street funeral home. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Mount View Care Center, Two South, for the special care extended to Marion during her time with them.
