Marion V. Lenard

Marion V. Lenard, 91, of Wausau, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, surrounded by family. She was born July 22, 1924 in Wausau, daughter of the late Frank and Adeline (Fuhrman) Splettstozer. She married Joseph Lenard on June 18, 1949. He died July 3, 1999, shortly after their 50th wedding anniversary. Marion was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and reading. She always had a smile on her face and her sense of humor will be missed by all. She left an unforgettable impression that touched everyone she met. She is survived by her children, Judy (Dennis) Augustine, Monument, Colo., Jeffrey (Kathy) Lenard, Wausau, and Lisa Rajek, Wausau; four grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Morgan, Manitou Springs, Colo., Ryan Lenard, Minneapolis, Minn., Brent Lenard, Wausau, Evan (Emily) Thomas, Madison; three step-grandchildren, Ashley Lemmer-Engelking, Madison, Andrew Rajek, Milwaukee, Emily Picerne, Huntington Beach, Cal.,; one great-grandchild, Alex Morgan, Manitou Springs, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Arlene Lenard, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her sisters, Eldora Pontick and Mildred Halkoski;, sons-in-law, Douglas Thomas and William Rajek; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau, where Marion and Joseph were founding members. Rev. Alan Burkhardt will preside. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Aspirus Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Marion in her final days.
