Marilyn E. Anklam

October 4, 1943 — December 15, 2003

Marilyn E. Anklam 60, 501 Lincoln Ave., Wausau, died Monday December 15, 2003 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born October 4, 1943 in Merrill, daughter of the late Emil and Edna (Radenz) Gumtz. On September 3, 1960 she married Orville Anklam at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Naugart. He survives. Marilyn will be remembered for the loving care she gave to the children she cared for in her home. Special to her was the time spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers of all types, sewing and shopping. The Anklams were former members of the Central Wisconsin Polka Club and several card clubs. Survivors include her husband, Orville, her children, Roxanne (Roger) Schroeder, town of Wausau and their children, Melissa & Jacob; Brenda (Delbert) Tesch, Wausau and their sons, Delbert Jr. "DJ" & Jeremy; Russell (Maureen) Anklam, Marathon and their son, Zachary, a sister, Luann Gumtz, Merrill, a sister-in-law, Arline Gumtz, Wausau, a brother-in-law, Gerald (Joan) Anklam, Wausau, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Heather Marie Tesch and Anna Marilyn Schroeder, a brother, Vilas Gumtz, father-in-law, Raymond Anklam and mother-in-law, Elvera Anklam-Andzeyewski. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday December 19, 2003 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5304 N. 44th Ave., Wausau. Rev. Timothy Greenwald will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Pallbearers for the service will be Danny Duwe, Tom Radenz, Patrick Heise, Eugene Dehnel, Brian and Gary Gumtz. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Ahuja and the UW Cancer Center Nurses as well as the staff of Comfort Care and Hospice Services for the outstanding care and support given to Marilyn during her illness.
