Marie E. Schult
92, formerly of 3913 136th Avenue, town of Stettin, died Sunday, October 23, 2005 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born March 19, 1913 in the town of Stettin, daughter of the late John and Martha (Buttke) Lodholz. On October 19, 1935 she married William C. Schult at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1990.
Marie and her late husband William operated a dairy farm in the town of Stettin. The farm has been in Marie's family for well over a century. She was a charter member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Rib Falls and was also a member of their Ladies Aid group. Some of Marie's favorite pastimes were baking, canning, gardening and talking on the phone with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, William A. (Bonnie) Schult, Marathon, two grandchildren, Timothy and Catherine Schult, Marathon, one brother Arden (Aladine) Lodholz, Wausau and two sisters-in-law, Lydia (Harold) Gierach and Elsie Schult both of Merrill.
Besides her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by one daughter, Marion Schult and one sister Ruth Schuett.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, town of Rib Falls. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, town of Stettin. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Marathon funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.
