Marie L. Rauen

Marie L. Rauen 98, Edgar, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Our House in Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born February 5, 1914 in the town of Rib Falls, daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Rothenberger) Karlen. On May 14, 1935, she married Myron Rauen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1996. Marie and Myron owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Rib Falls for 36 years until their retirement. She was actively involved with 4-H, church, loved gardening, sewing, reading and taking care of her grandchildren. Survivors include, one son, Leander (Diane) Rauen, Edgar; two daughters, Anne (LeRoy) Lutz, Brown Deer and Bernie (Ervin) Radke, Edgar; one daughter-in-law, Joann Rauen, Edgar; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Karlen, Edgar; and three sisters-in-law, Marcella Kraft, Poniatowski, Lorraine Doering, Wausau and Thelma Rauen, Milwaukee. Besides her parents and husband, Myron, she was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Rauen; and one sister, Agnes Literski. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is in charge of arrangements.
