Marie Lesczynski
91, 121 Pond St., Athens, died Sunday August 8, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield.
She was born March 25, 1913 in Corinth, daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Weber) Stallman. On June 29, 1936 she married John "Jack" Lesczynski at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. He preceded her in death February 15, 1996.
Marie graduated from the Marathon County Normal School, Teachers College and taught in one-room schools from 1931 until 1937. She taught four years in the Halsey School and two years in the Corinth School. Among her favorite things to do were, reading, gardening, crossword puzzles and she was also an avid Packer fan. Marie was well-known for her delicious apple pies and fruit cakes.
Survivors include three sons, Rev. James Lesczynski, Necedah; Robert (Carol) Lesczynski, Stevens Point; Jerome (Sharon) Lesczynski, Keller, Tex., five grandchildren, Stephen, Michael, Brian, Theo Ann, Daniel and one sister, Mabel Savino.
Besides her parents and husband, Jack, Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Kittel.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 12, 2004 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. James Lesczynski and Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary Weds. at 7 p.m. at the Athens funeral home.
