Marie C. Krieg

Marie C. Krieg 87, Wausau, died Weds. December 8, 2010 at Terrace Court, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born January 25, 1923, in LaCrosse, daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary Stieber. On June 6, 1944 she married Earl F. Krieg at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death February 12, 2008. Marie was first and formost a wife and mother and she enjoyed the time spent with her family. She also had been employed as a waitress and manager at a self service gas station. Through the years, Marie had been an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, volunteering for many parish activities, was a member of the St. Jude Circle and was also a member of the Catholic Women's Club. Survivors include her children, Patricia Krieg-Hiatt, John(Jeanette) Krieg, Andrew (Donna) Krieg, all of Wausau, Michael (Heather) Krieg, Santa Fe Springs, Calif., Roger (Mary Ann) Krieg, LeMont, Ill., and Steven (Mary) Krieg, Brookfield, 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren, one brother, Rudy (Irene) Stieber, Marathon, two brothers-in-law, Marvin Knoeck, Wausau and Frank Heil, Marathon. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Al Stieber and three sisters, Katie Stockhausen, Bernice Knoeck and Ann Heil. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 18, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
