Marie E. Dix

Marie E. Dix 93, Stettin Drive, Wausau, died Thursday January 12, 2006 at the Hospice House, Wausau. She was born October 4, 1912 in Marathon, daughter of the late Hugo and Olive (Bauer) Eisenmann. On May 1, 1941, she married Almond J. Dix in Marathon. He preceded her in death in 1967. After graduating from Wausau High School in 1935, Marie continued her education at the Marquette School of Nursing graduating in 1938. Marie was employed in the nursing profession for most of her working career. She served as the Head Nurse for Surgery at the former Wausau Hospital North, was employed at the former Mount View Nursing Home and prior to her retirement in 1975, was a nurse with the Marathon County Health Department. Marie was a Charter Member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau and was a member of their Parish Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Catholic Woman's Club. Survivors include five children, Judith Ann (Roger) Urban, St. Paul, Minn., Dolores (Jack) Kneifel, Kouts, Ind., Michael P. (Susan) Dix, Ringle, Daniel R. (Patti) Dix, Newbury Park, Calif., Jeffrey (Marilyn) Dix, Wausau, seven grandchildren, five sisters, Doris (Larry) Hanz, Mercedes Rolling, Annette Hoffman, all of Wausau, Catherine (Charles) Bauman, Hayward, Monica Rolling, Fond du Lac. Besides her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by a brother, Winand Eisenmann and a sister, Gertrude Sicklinger. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday January 28, 2006 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
