Marie E. Cepress

Marie E. Cepress 93, Wausau, died Monday April 21, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born June 23, 1914, in Wausau, daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Huber) Koy. On October 9, 1943, she married George Cepress in Wausau. He preceded her in death October 30, 1979. Marie was a lively woman who enjoyed a long, active life. She would happily work outside in her yard and at 93 wanted to be shoveling snow this winter. She loved gardening and was anxious to see her hundreds of tulips and daffodils each spring. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, was very proud of her grandchildren and loved telling everyone they were all college graduates. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends, her cat Tommy and the ducks who visited her backyard every spring. Packer and Brewer games will not be the same without her. Survivors include one son, Jim (Mary) Cepress, Wausau, five grandchildren, Matthew Cepress, Wausau, Michael Cepress, Seattle, Wash., Sheila (Garrick) DeMeyer, Wausau, Dr. Michelle (fiance', Logan McKay) Kolton, Philadelphia, Penn., Michael Kolton, Green Bay, one great grand daughter, Isabella DeMeyer, one sister-in-law, Martha Koy, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Kolton, five brothers, Clarence, Walter, George, Arthur and Edward Koy. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday April 24, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Gerald Pehler OFM Cap. will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
