Marie P. Banie

Marie P. Banie 93, Edgar died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbottsford. She was born November 15, 1908 in Athens daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Urmanski) Pawlowski. On July 2, 1935, she married Lawrence Banie at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1968. Marie and her husband operated a dairy farm in the town of Cassel until the time of their retirement. She also worked at the Badger Basket Factory, Edgar for 25 years and then was their cook for 7 years. Marie was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters and Christian Mothers Society of St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She enjoyed making crafts, sewing, flowers and gardening. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Warren) Berg, Colby; 2 grandchildren, Joseph (Joan) Berg and Karen (Don Beyer) Berg; 6 sisters, Lucille Helm, Antigo, Wilhelmina "Minnie" Murphy, Omro, Annie (Samuel) Lunesman, Exeland, Esther Johnson, East Detroit, Mich, Dorothy (Roy) Maker, Oklahoma City, OK and Betty Hardy, San Diego, CA. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sophie Gross and Bernice Forsmo; 4 brothers, Joe, Edward, Paul and James Pawlowski. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 2, 2002 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Bernard Raschke will preside. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. There will be a rosary services at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Edgar funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. John Catholic Church, Edgar.
