Marian A. Skrzypchak
84, Marathon died Saturday, February 5, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Allison House, Marathon.
She was born June 2, 1926 in the town of Cassel, daughter of the late Arthur and Agatha (Knoeck) Hall. On July 2, 1947 she married Norbert Skrzypchak at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2001.
Marian and Norbert owned and operated a dairy farm in Marathon area for many years and also did upholstery out of her home. Some of her favorite pastimes included working on puzzles, reading, card playing, sewing and being an active sports enthusiast. Marian will be fondly remembered for her volunteer efforts with St. Mary Catholic Church and also Colonial Manor Nursing home, but most of all she will be remembered for her great sense of humor and the jokes she loved to share with all.
Survivors include her children, Carole (Gene) Gregerson, Marathon, James (Jenny) Skrzypchak, Sayner, Joy Wicks, Fort Collins, CO., Kathy Skrzypchak, Wausau, Allan (Dawn King) Skrzypchak, Wausau, Barb (David) Robbins, East Dubuque, Illinois, William (Jenny) Skrzypchak, Marathon and Brian Skrzypchak, Eau Claire, 11 grandchildren, Guy (Kathy), Erik (Sarah) and Andrew Gregerson, Ricky, Jordan (Tara) and Jamison Wicks, Paul and Tanya Skrzypchak, Amber Early and Brett and Olivia Robbins, 3 great grandchildren, Carter and Jaxon Gregerson and Reilynn Wicks. She is further survived by 4 sisters, Alvina (Jerry) Wirkus, Edgar, Delphine Wadzinski, Wausau, Catherine Myszka, Edgar and Jeanette (Roy) LaPean, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a step grandson, Chadwick Early and her sisters, Viola Wadzinski, Corrine Kasmirski.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Marathon Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Marian's name.
